Stretching Exercises

Stretching exercises are best to do in the morning. As soon as you wake up open the window as these yoga postures are best to be done outdoors in fresh air and sunlight so that your body can get vitamin D from the sun. Stretch your body and inhale some fresh air. You can stretch backwards and forwards to relax your back and rotate your neck to get rid of stiffness around air. Tad asana

Morning time is the time which you can spend with yourself. So be calm while doing the asanas. Tad asana is also known as tree pose. It helps us to balance the body and strengthens the muscles of the legs. To get into Tree Pose, stand straight and then shift your weight to the right foot, bringing the sole of your left foot up to your right inner thigh. The hands are held together in a prayer position over the chest. This asana also helps the mind to concentrate.

Cat Cow pose

To do this pose you have to bend on the ground distribute your weight on your hands. The knees should be apart and the toes should touch the ground. In the Cat Cow pose you should inhale in cow that is when your head is up and exhale in cat that is when you tuck your chin down. Continue for 2-3 minutes and gradually increase your speed it will help you become more flexible.

Downward Dog

In this pose you have to lift your hips towards the sky and drop the head down. Legs should be apart. Draw your naval towards the spine and take a deep breath. You can repeat it 4-5 times. This basically a breathing exercise. You can do it as soon as you are awake. The Cat Cow pose will help you to regulate your breathing and deep breathing will make you calm.

Camel Pose

The Camel pose energizes our heart and chest. But only those who are doing yoga from long time can do this pose as it is a bit difficult to do. To do the pose, stand on your knees and bend backwards. Continue to bend till your hands touch the soles of your feet and your head should be backwards too, hold the pose for 30 seconds.

Warrior One

In the warrior pose you should stand straight and then take one of your legs backwards. Till it stretches, then bend the other leg from the knee. Then take your arms above yourself and stretch them and look up. This pose stretches the lower body and back and can strain your arms. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat with changed positions of legs.

Warrior Two

This pose is similar to Warrior One. The only difference being the position of the arms. In this pose the arms are held to the side with the head looking forward.
