It is needless to say that Delhi is a heaven for shopaholics. So toady my post is about five best shopping places in Delhi. Delhi is having so many famous markets that it is very difficult to choose top five from them. Here you will find every kind of market, from high end malls to bargain markets, from wholesale cloth markets to designer boutiques the list is endless. There is something to suit everyone’s taste. Delhi’s markets have a charm that can engulf anyone. These markets are a kaleidoscope of different cultures of Delhi. But to save your time and money I bring for you the topmost markets where you can find everything. Let’s have a look at them.
Well what I can say about this market. You will be surprised to know that it is my favourite amongst all the others. Even a visit to high end mall does not excite me this much as Chandni Chowk market. This is not a high end market but an absolute delight for women. The market is famous for its wedding trousseau and also the reasonable rates. If you are planning to visit Chandni Chowk don’t forget to gorge on yummy paranthas from paranthe wali gali.
The market is a hub for designers and boutique owners to source their fabrics and also laces of different kinds as Kinari Bazaar and Nai Sarak are just a few steps away from where you can buy books too. Paharganj, an area which is a favourite of tourists is nearby and so is the famous Jama Masjid. In the nutshell Chandni Chowk market has so much to offer that one day is not enough to see this market.
This is another market which I love the most. It is located in the heart of Delhi and offers both high end brands and bargain options. The market is lovely and always bustling with people due to its proximity to India Gate. Another plus point is that Khan Market is also some distance away from it. Janpath is a bargain market where you can get very cheap clothes. It is a hit with youngsters. Connaught Place has showrooms of various Indian states where you can get stuff from all over India. If planning a visit to Connaught Place don’t forget to visit famous Bangla Sahib Gurdwara and Hanuman Mandir.
Khan Market is one of the plushest markets in Delhi. It offers high end fashion boutiques and eateries. The place is always bustling with tourists. Khan Market is very versatile as you can get almost everything here from clothes to books etc. And satisfy your taste buds at various cafes and street food corners. Do visit this market to shop all the high end stuff.
It is another shopper’s delight. The market is one of the oldest one and offers almost everything like toys, electronics, wedding garments and bridal wear. You can find everything here and what is the use of shopping without bargain so don’t forget it. Ajmal Khan Road for clothes, Bank Street for jewellery and Gaffar Market for getting cheap electronics are highly recommended if visiting Karol Bagh.
Sarojini Nagar market is basically a place to shop cheap branded clothes. These are those clothes which are rejected due to some defects by big brands and are sold here at throw away prices. You can find clothes from well known brands and it is basically a bargain market. If you are not big on budget try Sarojini Nagar market. The area is hit with college students as North Campus is near by.
