Pranayama is nothing but extension of breath. “Prana” which means breath and “Ayama” mean to extend or draw out. So basically it is control of breath. Pranayama is nothing but the process to increase the spirit of energy. Pranayama is the process how to control and extend your breath. It is all about the vital air component.

So as Pranayama is about breath control and extension it really helps a lot in improving your pressure issues. Especially for high pressure patients Pranayama has lot to offer.

Blood Pressure is all about the pressure of the blood created against the wall of arteries when the heart pumps out the blood. High blood pressure is the condition when the blood pressure increases. It can lead to quiet serious issues like heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and many other health issues. All kinds of human diseases and problems can be solved by various types of physical exercise. Now, physical exercise can be of different types it can be cardio exercise, yoga, pranayama, free hand exercise.

The causes for high blood pressure are stress, no exercise, unhealthy diet, weight gain, excessive intake of sodium salt and unlimited alcohol.

Bhastrika Pranayama

Bhastrika Pranayama is all about blowing your bellows. “Bhastrika” in Sanskrit means bellows. It allows your body to have huge amount of oxygen. It is a breathing exercise which is to be done in fresh air so morning time and evening time is best for this pranayama. This pranayama needs to be done for at least twice a day for 3- 5 minutes.

In this pranayama one need to fill the lungs with oxygen by deep inhaling through nostrils and exhaling it out.

Pranayama is always useful and fruitful in High blood pressure and other health problems. But precautionary measures are to be maintained according to the age and health condition. For aged group and pregnant ladies pranayamas are to be followed in slow process and for pregnant ladies Kapalbhati Pranayama is not advisable for pregnant women.
