Allergy is something which may happen to anybody and from many things. It usually happens when the body’s immune system starts to react in certain environments. Among them wheat allergy or gluten allergy is one of them. Wheat allergy may develop within few hours of consuming wheat and it can happen to anybody’s children or adults.

People usually do not have allergy from wheat, but in some cases it can be reactive. Among adults and kids it is kids who are affected much by this wheat allergy as their immune system remains poor. Even people suffering from asthma and other such diseases, it may happen that in the future their children may suffer from any kind of food allergy.

Wheat allergy mainly happens from any food having wheat content such as bread, pizza, pasta, muffins, cookies, beer, noodles, soy sauce, food starch, jelly bean etc. Wheat allergy may also happen from cosmetic product having wheat content such as soaps, cosmetics, body wash etc.

In some rare cases, wheat allergy may lead to life threatening symptoms which stops breathing and put body in shock, this is known as anaphylaxis. People who are exercising after eating wheat within a few hours, their body triggers this allergy which becomes life threatening at times.

Treatment for wheat allergy

Ones you face any kind of food allergy, it is advisable to check with your doctor. The Doctor may make the diagnosis by giving certain tests which may include skin allergy, blood test, food challenging test. Antihistamines, Epinephrine are the medicines prescribed to patients by doctors.

How to keep yourself away from wheat allergy

People who are allergic to wheat try to find substitutes with gluten free oats, millet, rice flour. Always remember to buy products by seeing the label. Whenever you move out for dinner or lunch, check accordingly what you are eating. Learn to cook gluten free foods.
